Our Story

In 1983, fraternal twins Matt and Mark Cop were born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. They lived most of their childhood in Pennsylvania raised by their mother, who made them the hard working and honest men they are today. Matt and Mark's first detail was their mom's 1983 Nissan Datsun when they were 12 years old.  While working on their mom's car, Matt replied to his brother Mark "I like doing this."  Years Later After high school, Matt returned to New Jersey to study architecture, along with a passion of automobiles, and basketball. Matt took courses in design while working for a professional detail company owned and operated by two other brothers. Here Matt and Mark learned the fundamentals and hard work of auto detailing. After some years passed, Matt and Mark moved to another detailing company more involved with the higher end vehicles and clientele. Here they fine tuned their skills. Their drive for innovation and an eye for detailing led them to choose a career in the auto detailing business. Matt and Mark's willingness to learn new things and unique talent made them truly valuable from the inside of a vehicle to the outside to under the hood.

After sixteen years of working for a professional detail company, Matt lost his job when the COVID-19 situation started. The birth of Detail Cop, L.L.C  was formed in 2020. Matthew Cop is the owner and operator of the company. Matt's dream one day was to be working with his brother helping people and their vehicles.
